It's not hard to do and I encourage everyone to do the same thing I just got doing! Join MSA! If you don't agree with this, that or whatever, I don't care. You can't please everyone, but what I want to see is an Association that consists of 350,000 snowmobilers! Then with those numbers, we will walk into Lansing and tell them the way it is going to be! I have thought about this long and hard. I am throwing all my support toward MSA! Many good people in the Association. We all need to come together and fight the greenies that are coming our way and the political bullshit in Lansing. To all of my Army and Generals! These boys have asked for our help. They are now on-line and are eager to hear from you. They are starting to take MSA meetings to other parts of the State. So, what I say is, throw $20 there way for a membership and let's get these snowmobilers unite! Last year, our season did not start until late December. Contracts were not signed and the Department of Natural Recourses was yanking our chain. I like to see them yank that chain with 350,000 members! Get ready folks! We are getting ready to rock!

A Muslim leader from Dearborn met privately with Sen. Barack Obama during his Wednesday visit to Michigan. Imam Hassan Qazwini, head of the Islamic Center of America, said in an email that he met with Obama at Macomb Community College. A mosque spokesman, Eide Alawan, confirmed that the meeting took place. During the meeting, the two discussed the Presidential election, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the Iraq war, according to Qazwini. I am getting ready to really get involved with MSA! They have reached out to me, now I am going to reach out and help them. Biskit's Army is obligated and ordered to belong to this Association. MSA has been working with me to help create a positive public image and a TV show for organized snowmobiling. Bill Manson has introduced me to few folks. I have been telling MSA they need to break up the good old boys club and be more open with communications to the masses. Not just the membership. My latest effort is from MSA being on YouTube. (John Griffin) I am trying to work with MSA on video use and created a YouTube channel for MSA that I am administering. Honestly I just had to make this happen to introduce them to the media web. Many people in the state of Michigan have had some ill feelings regarding the MSA and their current structure. They havenâ€™t been doing enough to address the topics we snowmobilers care about. Younger generations do not feel like the MSA is an organization that they can relate to.

This is ALL about to change!!! Believe it or not the MSA is making every effort to reach out to current membership and non membership to make them believe a change is on the horizon. They started with the meeting in Mackinac a couple weekends ago which turned out to be a huge success. Over 100 people attended a meeting that they figured was going to be the same old same old but it wasnâ€™t. The floor was open to everyone to discuss what the MSA â€œshouldâ€ be doing for members and what needs to change with our sport in this state. Well, now they are targeting S/E Michigan since we alone equate to over 90,000 registered snowmobiles.

Guys and gals, you may or may not know how active I am in this sport helping with club functions and preaching about the positive impact snowmobiling has in this state. I am not fooled easily and support those that deserve it. I have been a member of the MSA for many years and support them. I may not agree with everything they support or all their views BUT, I do know that they are the only organization that is fighting for our right to ride. This has been my basis for many conversations with buddies and people I donâ€™t even know because I think we need to support them.

Power comes in numbers and right now the numbers arenâ€™t good. The Greenies and groups that would like to see our sport shut down out number us by a ridiculous amount when issues come up in Lansing and thatâ€™s just sad. Sometimes all that is needed is better communication and that is the case here. Nobody is asking anyone to give up hours of their busy work weeks to fight the fight but letting the MSA know what we want is important. Many think that the sport is fine and itâ€™s their right to ride and nobody can take that away. Those people are wrong; we are slowly losing our rights little by little every time a law passes that restricts us from riding our sleds some where some how. The more points of view that the MSA can get the better chance they can crush legislation that threatens our sport. This is not extreme thinking itâ€™s reality and if you arenâ€™t part of the solutions then your part of the problem.

Good example, a subdivision in MN was threatened when a chunk of land was sold to a company that wanted to turn it into a landfill. Residents were furious and obviously apposed the landfill. Meetings were held in the Township and every resident in that community attended ever one of those meetings. The Township board saw that the residents didnâ€™t want this landfill in there back yard and turned down the rezoning of the property.

What if nobody showed up? The board would have heard the side of the landfill people and voted with no opinions from the residents.

I can know say with confidence that the MSA is looking to jump into this Century and connect with the 20-40 year old crowd who make up so much of the riders in Michigan. The MSA is looking to restructure and they want to hear from YOU and ME about what we would like to see change in our sport and within the MSA.

Where Does The Money Go?

Is money earmarked for snowmobile registration, finding its way into the pockets of some NYS lawmakers? That assertion is coming from the Adirondack Council, which maintains NYS Snowmobile Association members may unwittingly be sending some of the fee's collected each year, into a Political Action Committee which is then making donations to the campaign war chests of certain state legislators. The Adirondack Council is questioning this, calling it politics at its worst.
